At Phoenix Trading, Inc. (PTI) we have a mission statement- “TO BE THE LEADING AND MOST ETHICAL SUPPLIER OF EQUIPMENT AND PARTS TO BUSINESSES AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.” This guides our every move - including how we treat our employees and how we expect them to conduct themselves. For us, a commitment to promoting and protecting human rights and personal health and safety is essential to doing responsible business. We have developed a workplace code of conduct so that our expectations are clear to our employees.
PTI shall not allow any form of forced or involuntary labor in their company. They may not require their employees to make any kind of “deposits”, nor are they entitled to retain employees’ identity documents. PTI acknowledges the right of its employees to leave their employer after reasonable notice.
No person shall be employed at an age younger than 16.
Every employee shall be treated with respect and dignity. No employee shall be subject to any physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.
No person shall be subject to any discrimination in employment, including hiring, salary, benefits, advancement discipline, termination or retirement, on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, veteran status, marital status, or social or ethnic origin.
PTI shall provide a safe and healthy working environment to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of work or as a result of the operation and employer facilities. PTI shall take a proactive approach to health and safety by including policies, systems and training designed to help prevent accidents, injuries and protect worker health.
PTI recognize that wages are essential to meeting employees’ basic needs. PTI will pay employees at least the minimum wage required by local law. PTI will provide mandated benefits as directed by the laws of the country.
Except in extraordinary business circumstances, employees shall not be required to work more than 60 hours per week. Except in extraordinary circumstances, employees shall be entitled to at least one day of rest in every 7-day period.
PTI will ensure that workers who are women, disabled, or an ethnic minority receive equal treatment in all aspects of employment. PTI will ensure that veterans receive equal treatment in all aspects of employment.
PTI has a clearly documented quality system and quality improvement plan. This system includes internal audits performed by a trained QA staff person provided by PTI who has the autonomy and support they need in order to provide an unbiased report on the quality of every shipment. All employees must insure that the finished product meet PTI’s quality standards.
In matters related to their employment, PTI employees must act for the benefit of their employer and not deprive their employer of the advantage of their skills and abilities, divulge confidential information, or otherwise cause harm to their employer.
PTI employees must not accept gifts, benefits, compensation, or consideration that competes with or might reasonably be expected to create a conflict of interest with their employer’s interest unless they obtain written consent from all parties involved.
PTI does not permit unapproved subcontracting under any circumstances. All packaging must be done within facilities that have been approved by PTI, without exception.
PTI and its employees must adhere strictly to all applicable U.S laws and regulations and those of the city of Rockville, where the company does business.
